Are you interested in scheduling the Irish Dance Company of Lansing? We would like as much lead time as possible. Since March is our busiest month, any St. Patrick's day related performances should be scheduled as soon as possible. Before scheduling a performance, it is helpful for us to have the following information:
In what city would you like the Irish Dance Company of Lansing to perform?
Since our performers are all children, we must consider travel distance before committing to a performance.
What is the venue?
We have performed in many different venues (such as festivals, theaters, schools, senior centers, nursing homes, restaurants and pubs). We would be happy to discuss possibilities.
Will there be a dressing room area?
The performers will need an area to get into costume before the show. They will also need some space near the stage to change shoes.
What size is the stage?
Our performances are adaptable to many different size stages. An ideal stage size is forty feet wide, but we can accommodate a much smaller stage. Knowing the size of the stage helps us determine which numbers we can perform.
What type of dance floor do you have?
For the most impressive performance, the dancers need a wood dance floor. We have performed on carpet, but the performance does not have the same effect as wood. However, we will perform on carpet if that is what is available. The dancers are not able to perform on pavement or concrete.
Is a sound system available?
We have our own sound system if one is not available.
Who is our audience?
The Irish Dance Company of Lansing is a service organization. We routinely perform for school children, senior citizens, and nursing home residents, as well as for the general public.
What length would you like for the show?
This will help us determine which dance numbers to prepare. A 30 to 45 minute performance is ideal.
Remember, the children work hard on stage. They would appreciate water and a light snack after the show.
